Thai Massage

Thai massage is my most favorite type of massage ever! It is sometimes called Thai yoga massage and this is what drew me to try it. I love to stretch and this massage is the perfect combination of stretching and massage. You lie on a mat on the ground while a therapist moves your body into different positions and massages your from the top of your head to the tips of your toes.
My first experience with Thai massage was at an ecco resort in Mexico. I booked a massage at the spa after my yoga class by the ocean. The Thai massage was as close to heaven as I can imagine. After the massage I felt like I had just completed the most relaxing yoga stretches ever and all I had to do was lie there and relax.

I love receiving Thai massage so much I decided I would like to pass this on to my client and so I signed up to take Thai Massage 101 from Still Light Center. After taking the intensive class I felt prepared to pass on relaxing Thai Massage treatments to my family and friends. After a few massages I felt more confident about the technique and came to love giving massages as much as I love receiving them. One of the clients I practiced on wrote this to me following her first Thai massage ever "Thank you so much for that massage. It was the best one I have ever had. You truly have a gift. You have a very calming energy. I feel a difference throughout my whole being. Namaste." This note motivated me to continue to practice and further my education in Thai Massage.
If you would like to try Thai massage there are some things you should know before your treatment. First you remain fully clothed during this massage so it is best to wear comfortable clothes that allow you to stretch and more, like clothes you would wear to do yoga. Second try not to eat a big meal before your massage as you will feel bloated and won't feel as relaxed as you could. Here are some photos of what a Thai Massage looks like...
Thai Massage begins in a seated position...

And then reclining on your back...

Rolling over to your front...
The massage finishes on your back. Try to relax after your massage and drink water to flush the toxins from your system.
I encourage anyone that is able to try this massage. You will not regret it!
